Presented by a PRWB trainer, this first module lays the foundations of public relations and their role in international cooperation. Participants discover communication for development, recognized by the international community as a lever enabling marginalized populations to influence decisions that affect their lives. The module offers a rigorous definition of public relations, then traces the broad history of human communication, from cave paintings to the age of mass media. It concludes with a presentation of the PRWB approach: supporting local organizations on a volunteer basis to increase their visibility, improve their perception, and drive new behaviors.
